Wow, what a year! I can't believe it's almost over.
I have been so busy since taking the new job, and then we went to Vegas, Christmas....all of it taking precious blog time!
Here is our Vegas recap:
We lost, we ate, we drank, we socialized. We had dinner with our friends and their children. I can't believe how much they have all grown in the last 3 years. Brandon (Christa's son) is so big and cute! Ryan and Janell's children have gotten to be so big and grown up too! The twins (10 now) are just as nice and polite as they can be! Of course everyone looks great and seems to be doing well. Vegas has grown alot in the years as well so we spent alot of time seeing the new stuff. We really liked the Planet Hollywood (old Aladdin) but didn't win anything and then the drinks were $$. (8.00 for a vodka tonic). The Wynn is nice but really an "older" crowd casino. We still really like The Palms. It has such a good vibe.
Shawn, Callie and Chris took me to Brennan's for my birthday on Saturday. The food was amazing as was the company and wine. We also went to their house on Sunday night for a party. Madeline was the only kid there but she was soooo good and well behaved. I think EVERYONE commented on that!
It was Christmas weekend when we got back so things were moving. Madeline was alot of fun on Christmas morning. She saw her horse, said "Horsie", touched it, then took off with the baby doll stroller! So much for $$ gifts! We went to Becky's on Christmas day and had a great time. Her newly remodeled living room looks amazing!
Now we are just getting ready for the new year, but for us, it's never that big of a deal. I sorta hate going out on the roads just because of all the drunk people out that night.

It's been crazy for me since I started the new job. I was in California all last week and didn't get my computer until Thursday night. I felt naked without it!
Last week was very hard being away. New job, away from my family was just very hard. I was certainly glad to get home. I did come home to a new desk chair that Shawn bought for me! So sweet.
This week has just been getting acclimated to working from home, etc. It's been a long time since I did this on a full time basis...
We are preparing to leave for Vegas on Sunday. Madeline is staying with Aunt Bebe and I know she will have a great time. I am already missing her though!

I have spent almost all day just cleaning up this office and rearranging so I will be able to do some productive work in here! Boy am I lazy when it comes to this room! I had stuff all over the place!
We are gonna get rid of the futon (anyone want it) and put in a book case or something. If we have extra guests, we will just get one of those nice blow up mattresses. Or, they can sleep in Madeline's crib...LOL.
She was so used to getting up, getting ready and heading to school, that she was making me get up to take her today! I guess she didn't get there too much earlier than I will take her but I just thought it was funny. She was ready to GO!
The dogs have been very well behaved today as well. I am hoping this will be an everyday thing too!
I hope that we can get our Christmas decorations up this weekend.

We got up early on Thursday to drive to Dallas. We have learned not to fight the Wednesday night traffic. We got there at about 12:00 with plenty of time to relax before everyone came over to Cyn and Dan's. Madeline enjoyed playing in the playroom and even more when all her cousins and thier cousins got there. She was pretty shy at first but didn't take her long to start playing with them.
Friday, Cyn and I went to Kohl's and got some good deals. Friday night we went and had family pictures taken. Then we had to get home because of the U of Hawaii football game so no one was going anywhere after that! Saturday we went to the Gaylord Texan to walk around, that's where she met Santa. http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylordtexan/. Took lots of pics and saw lots of cool holiday decorations, even some REAL reindeers!
We left early Sunday to beat the traffic and darn glad we did. It was good all the way but pouring when we got to Houston.
We are headed to Dallas for the long weekend! We hope everyone stays dry and warm, and eats way too much food!
I have taken a job with my old company (before El Paso) again. I will be a Training manager (which I love to do). I get to work from home and I got a substantial pay increase! It's all good things for me and my family but I just wanted to share.
It was really hard telling my boss here today. I have loved this company and they have really treated me right. I am gonna miss everyone here alot. The ironic thing is they just got a nice raise approved for me yesterday, but alas, still not enough to match what I am gonna make with new company. Plus, working from home will be such a great life change for us. Madeline won't have to go to school so early, or stay as late. I am gonna try to get back into the gym if I can too!
Anyway, my last day here is 11/29. I will be in California for the first 4 days of December for training so Shawn will be a single Dad!
We have also booked a trip to Vegas for 12/16-20. We are very excited about that. So is Aunt Bebe since she is gonna keep Madeline that week!!!
